Although Lilt Literary is not quite ready to accept submissions and to bring new authors on board, we would love to offer our skills to support other self- and micro publishers. L.C. Spoering is a trained and experienced editor with a BA in English Writing. Laila Blake is a trained translator and editor with an MA in Specialized Translating and Applied Linguistics. She is also a self-trained graphic designer.
We offer editing and translating services, and we can also work with you to create the best cover for your books, as well as help you with your PR strategy.
We offer several packages, depending on the depth of editing you’re looking for. With every option, you can choose to hire one of us for a lower cost, or both of us. The latter not only offers twice the number of eyes and comes closer to the editing processes in traditional houses, it also means we work as a team and discuss your work, which – especially if you book us for development or content editing – will give you the best of both our skill.
We read though your manuscript, identify plot holes, issues in pacing, problems with exposition and flow. We discuss the impact of your first chapter, and the feeling of resolution in your last. In a word – we try to help you make your book better at the development stage.
We read though your manuscript and fix it on the sentence level. We look for repetition, for cliches and awkward structures. We identify expressions that hinder comprehension, and offer solutions. Copy editing also includes fixing spelling and punctuation errors, however, because it contains suggestions and comments, a copy edited manuscript is not the final copy ready for publication.
If all you’re looking for is a last check through your manuscript to make sure it’s error-free, proofreading is the right option for you. Here, we just eliminate spelling and punctuation errors and check that your formatting is correct and consistent throughout.
For a discount, we are happy to offer packages of the different services.
